How to Make Homemade Tomato Sauce with Fresh Tomatoes

Ingredients
  

  • 13 lbs Fresh Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Salt Add more to taste throughout cooking.
  • 6 Garlic Cloves Whole.
  • Fresh Basil To Taste.

  • 4 QT Pot
  • Large Wooden Spoon

Method
 

  1. Wash and remove the green tops of the tomatoes.
  2. Place tomatoes in blender and puree.
  3. In a large pot, add all ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Let sauce simmer for a minimum of 3 hours until reduced. We usually cook ours for about 5 hours.
  6. Continue to check on the sauce and taste throughout. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
  7. Once the sauce has reduced by about half and is full of flavor. Enjoy!
